Here's what we've been up to... like I said, we've been busy and I take way too many pictures...
Swimming lessons at the Park City Racquet Club...
Zach has started his first session of swim lessons for the summer. This year he is a "Dolphin" and very proud of it! He is learning to dive and swim with his face under water. He is doing really well and has already learned so much... he just LOVES it. Unfortunately, I don't get to watch much of his lesson... I spend the entire half hour just trying to keep Cam from jumping in the pool. Try explaining to a 2 year old that he can't get in the pool until swimming lessons are over and he can't be in swimming lessons until he's 3. He just doesn't understand. It is a constant struggle for me everyday. I have to keep plenty of treats in my bag to keep him preoccupied! I was able to get him signed up for the last session this summer though, he will start his swimming lessons in August as a "Guppy" He is really excited... I just hope he listens to his instructor better then he listens to his mother. Cam doesn't think he needs any help in the water, as I follow him around the pool he yells "Mom, go away! Leave me alone! Don't touch me!" It will be nice to pass him off to someone else and just sit in a chair and observe for a while... is that a horrible thing to say?
The Fourth of July...
We packed in a full day of excitement for the 4th. We started out at the Quiksilver store in Park City to watch the parade from the balcony. Zach enjoyed squirting people with the water gun, while Cams favorite part was the trolley that rolls up and down Main Street on any given day. Bryan, Annalisa, Thayne and the 4 boys between them met us there. Then we met up with Grandma and Gary and the whole crew headed back to Rockapulco for some boating and then fish tacos at our house for dinner. No fireworks here... I really would hate to be the reason the whole mountain burned down, plus I hear they were giving out life sentences for anyone who dared to light them, but we could see the city of Oakley's fireworks from our deck.
Sunday Dinners with the Mooney's...
We used to go to the Mooney's every Sunday for dinner. Then with every one's busy lives it changed to every other Sunday, now with every ones even busier lives we only get to have our Sunday dinners once a month, but I always look forward to it, especially in the summertime! Jack and Chris have a wonderful yard filled with lush, green, always blooming gardens. It's the kind of yard that I dream of having someday. Being in the company of The Mooney's is always so much fun and the food is ALWAYS to die for!
Summertime Rolls...
We have been spending lots of time playing at the lake. There is no beach what-so-ever right now. The Reservoir is completely full, fuller than it ever was last year and it has been that way for nearly a month now. It's a good thing! So we just lay in the grass and kick around on the kayaks. The water is still freezing, also unlike last year... there is still plenty of run off coming out of the Uinta Mountains. Bryan and Annalisa had us over the other night to watch the "Ultimate Fighting Championships" They set up their huge blow up water slide. The kids had a blast! Our friend Thayne brought over his two boys too. They all have so much fun together. It's been fun to watch these boys grow up together. They are such good friends and they always have a great time!

Hmmm...the pictures aren't working for me. Please help!
I don't know what the deal is... can you click on the picassa logo and look at the pictures that way? Maybe I overloaded it... is anyone else having problems seeing the slideshows???

okay, they worked this time! was that you hanging out of the trolley on main street??? and are those thayne's boys in some of those pics? they look just like him! i am impressed with all the fun you've managed this summer. it helps living on rockport, eh? you're like, we've got a lake if you've got a boat....
:)
The slideshows were great! what a fun summer! It was fun to see the Mooney's, Michelle and I were the best of friends I think that was 7th grade...anyway I had to laugh at the thought of Cam telling you to go away. McKenna does the same thing to me. You're such a great Mom!
Do you do your slideshows on Picassa? do you design your own blog? you are amazing with the camera!
Thanks Mel! Slide shows on Picassa are super easy, you just make an album and then embed the slideshow.
Les, No that wasn't me hanging out the trolley, but I am trying to talk Bryan and Annalisa into doing an AMC float next year, with all of out big dogs we would fit right in for the Park City parade! And yes, those are Thaynes boys. They are good kids and they are so cute with their daddy!
What a fun summer! I totally relate to Cam telling you to go away at swimming. Drew does the same thing, he yells and me to let him go even though he can't swim. I put him in swimming lessons and they ended up being screaming lessons because he didn't like the instructor holdling on to him.
