A bunch of our neighbors have all pitched in to get some real snow moving machinery in here. Just before sunset yesterday the process of finding our road began. It has been an adventure for us this last week, sometimes a little too much of an adventure, but there is something addicting in the air up here, something that will likely keep us here for a long time. This week we have gotten to know a lot more of our neighbors. It is a little community of people who enjoy and appreciate the same things in life that we do. Everyone has come together to take care of this snow issue. There are many people we have talked to who have lived up here for 15 years plus, and they all say they have never seen this much snow up here before. Last year was such a teaser, it was way too easy. I mean I realize that was the littlest snow year Utah has seen in over 15 years too, but talk about a change of the seasons, geeze!
So we are all plowed out now, Rockport Blvd. is open and actually cleaner than I have seen it since all this snow started pounding us just before Christmas. But, me and the boys are going to stay a few days at my Moms house and let these next few storms pass. Greg and Nikita will be up here keeping on top of things so that we can easily get back in. We are looking forward to a little vacation and lots of hot tubbing! But it makes me sad to leave our little house especially on such a beautiful, sunny day. Below are a few pics from today after they cleared the road. This is just one of the two humungous snowbanks that now border our house. I can't wait till we can put that thing to some real use, it's going to make an awesome quarter pipe!

This is just plain insane. I don't know what else to say.
All I know is these pics remind me of the winters that used to happen when I was young, living in rural Idaho. There is something a little magical in such a heavy winter.
