Flowery Goodness

I have finally planted my pots :) It brings me to a whole new level of joy in my life to have flowers on my deck. I am normally the first person to jump the gun and plant everything way too early only to watch them struggle through the rest of the summer. This year I had to wait. Firstly, because winter just left for good only a few weeks ago. And secondly, because what was the point of planting them right before I was leaving to go on vacation for a week? So today was a good day.  I ran to Walmart to see what they had and they just happened to have all flower baskets on sale for $4.00. I wasn't very excited about the selection, but just when I was about to walk out with 2 small, but not quite dead basktets, the delivery truck pulled up and they started unloading racks and racks of large, colorful, wonderful flowering baskets! I was in seventh heaven. I would have liked to have seen my face when the guy told me they were all $4. I ended up buying 6 of them and I am THRILLED!!!   All of my little fishy's and thingy's have found their homes for the summer and I have a huge smile on my face.  :)

I was so excited when I got home and realized what an amazing purchase I had just made that I just had to take a picture... $30 worth of flowers!!!  STOKED!!!

WOW. Again I have ot say I am so jealous. I have about 20 pots in my yard. I plant them all myself and love doing it and then caring for them. My best pot tip is to add some Osmocote beads to each one for all summer fertilizing. Then I add a pitcher of Fertilome fertizer every week to every one and they just burst in color and flowers. I use the blooming and rooting one.
Your flowers are beautiful and I wish I had seent he truck coming to my Walmart!

Thanks for the tips Mary, I have always LOVED your flower pots. I never knew you planted them all! They are amazing! I usually like to plant mine too, but I was too late this year. I'm going to try your fertilizer tips. Thanks!

I'm so jealous. First of all, I don't live within an hour of anywhere with flowers "on sale"...and 2nd, I know they wouldn't survive. I love having flowers and all I have this summer is a dirt yard. Oh well. Yours are beautiful.

Suz........gorgious. I just love the feel when I get all my planters planted and the hanging baskets hung...then watch them grow. Love it! Now not only is your home peaceful and wonderful, it is filled with the color of nature. Heaven on earth at Rockapulco!

Well Jelina, I think a newborn baby girl is a pretty good reason not to have any flowers this year :)
