Once again it is raining, and once again I am amazed by all of the brilliant colors. I love this time of year. The first round of wildflowers are blooming. The crickets are back to chirping even in the heat of the day and the sweet smell of wet sage makes it hard not to feel uplifted, even on a rainy day. These are some of the things I have grown to love about mountain living. The harmony of the crickets is very calming and the aroma of the sage after a good rainstorm is uplifting and refreshing. An hour on the deck after a summer storm is as good as any spa has been to me.
I took a little walk in the rain to get some shots of the eye candy that is blooming all around this natural terrain.

Beautiful, once again I'm jealous! I just took a run through the hills behind Idaho Falls last night and got a good dose of the wet sage smell. I love Indian Paintbrushs, wild flowers are so beautful...consider yourself lucky I have to drive at least an hour to get to any.
WOW the flowers are so beautiful. It is raining here everday also. The colors are intense.
Love it, too. I love walking around and smelling everything and looking at the colors. I'm afraid, though, this year we are going to go straight from spring back to winter. :( Nature seems to be skipping summer.
Beautiful. I love that you're able to see the real beauty all around you. The rain does have it's advantages. Luv ya
You guys have the life! Wildlife, crickets chirping, beatiful-beautiful wild flowers, peace and quiet, (well except for the 2 dino boys)and a lake and kayaks to boot! People pay a lot of money for that kind of vacation! When can I book a room! Yesterday was fun at Zachs program. It kills these how quickly these boys are growing. See you soon!
sorry the last comment should say it kills me how quickly these boys are growing. I have Cam screaming..Zach.. Zach and Zach saying Wawa can I just have 1 treat. And I thought I could multitask really well!
Green with Envy. Wow.
Totally makes me miss Idaho. I miss the season's change...I like that it's ALWAYS hot here, but the grass is always greener on the other side...and where do you live? What lake is that? It's gorgeous! Josh and I got a kayak for xmas from the in-laws. it's still in its package. so sad :( but you've inspired me to get it out and just go do it! thanks!
The lake is Rockport. We are just East (I think) of Park City. You really should get out that kayak. When the water is calm it would be so wonderful!!! The grass is definitely always greener in Hawaii :)
yeah-greener and thicker...to hide the centipedes that are MUCH bigger here! :)
I keep looking at your last two posts and am getting so excited for next week! The glassy water looks so nice.
All these beautiful wildflowers remind me of the time Chuck, your mom, you, and I rode the tram to the top of Snowbird and walked down, trying to pick one of each different type of wildflower. We must have had at least 25 or 30 by the time we got to the bottom! What a fond memory I have have of that day!
