T'was a Very Merry Christmas

I am blessed...  I have two darling children, my best friend is also my husband, I was raised in a loving, caring, close family, and I also married into a wonderful family.  What more could I ask for?

SUB FOR SANTA
For the past two years we have made donations to a Sub for Santa program.  I want to share this years story because I know that some of you donated and I want you to know how much it meant.  Greg and I teamed up with KBER 101, one of the local radio stations and with Quiksilver, where we work.  It started last year when I heard them talking on the radio about how they have tons of families in their Sub for Santa program who needed help.  It was kind of last minute, but many of our employees gave up their Christmas bonus to donate to the families in need.  It felt so good that we couldn't wait to do it again this year.  Only this year we got more than the employees involved.  We got our customers involved and our family this year made donations instead of drawing names between the adults for our Christmas Eve Party.   I had so much fun shopping for the kids, and because we get to use our employee discount on the items we bought, every dollar donated made two dollars worth of product.  Our family alone donated about $1000 worth of merchandise!  We mostly bought warm jackets and hoodies for all sizes from 2T to kids size 16.   When we arrived at KBER to drop it off they were thrilled, and so thankful, and wanted us to know that the families would be very grateful and it would all go to children who needed it.  They were on the phone right away letting the families know.  While we were there one of the fathers came by and he just couldn't believe we were giving him whatever he wanted.  He needed a girls size 8 and we hooked him up with T shirts, hoodies, mittens and a beanie!  It felt so good to see how much we were able to help him give his little girl what she needed.   Once again I left feeling so happy and I can't wait to do it again next year.  Anyone who wants to get involved would be greatly appreciated.  A simple $20 is a very much needed jacket for a child.
Thanks again to all who made a contribution!!!

Thanks for sharing the story about our donations. It makes it special when we can relate it to someone specific. Great slide show. You caught so many different expressions and feelings in your pics. Love it.
