Kindergarten, already?!

I am not sure how I got to this point in life so fast. It is just amazing to me that I have a child in Elementary School. I dropped Zach off yesterday to his first day of Kindergarten. It was a very exciting day for him, but a lot harder on me than I expected. It just felt so strange leaving him there with a woman who is a complete stranger to me. I'm sure she is a wonderful woman, I just struggle with separation issues I guess, while Zach could care less about me leaving. He's just happy to be learning new things and playing with new friends. He really is such a great kid. His class is lucky to have him there! When asked what was his favorite thing about his first day of school his answer is "Recess! We get 3 of them!" I guess that sounds about right. Recess was always my favorite subject too.

Today Cam wanted to get up with me and Zach and walk with us to school. He has been missing his Big Brother a lot already, but we have been enjoying some long overdue one-on-one time together also. His Pre School starts next week, then my schedule will really be full! I feel like we are entering a whole new chapter of life, full of all kinds of new responsibilities for me. I'm looking forward to it with much enthusiasm!

I know what you mean - I wonder how different it will be to have kids in school. You have to deal with such a wide range of things - teachers, friends, their parents. It is a whole new world. Congrats on making it this far! :-)

Zach is so eager to learn anything and everything, kindergarten will be a great new adventure in his life. He is also very eager to teach what he knows, look out Hawthorne Hawks, Zach has arrived!
I'm very proud of you Zach, open that mind and learn, learn, learn.

Wow, so crazy that you are at this phase of life! Isn't it trippy? I still wonder sometimes if it is really "ME" who has become a "responsible mother" who has all these schedules. Your boys are adorable! Cute post!

Zach looks SO much older than a kindergartner...he looks so tall. My Colton is in first grade this year and he seems so small to me, still. :) I keep thinking I "only" have a 1st grader and I'm how old! We've got a long way to go.
