Today
I realize Tattoos aren't for everyone... and that's a good thing... but Greg and I are into them. Tonight we had a hot date at 11th Street Electric Gallery. It was the most time I have spent in a tattoo studio when I was not being tattooed myself. It was definitely a lot less painful for me this time, and honestly, it was a lot of fun. While I was sitting there watching the artists interact, giving props on each others artwork, and seeing how stoked the customers are to be getting tattooed. It really made me think about all of the stereo types and prejudice's people have. I, myself, am guilty of passing judgement when I see someone who is heavily tattooed. I'm not proud of it, it's lame of me. There is an automatic preconception, you know what I mean?
I have a lot of respect for Tattoo Artists. That is exactly what they are, Artists who are doing what they love for a living. Not everyone can say that. Most of them are just like any of us in that they just want to make a decent living, provide for their family, and enjoy life. Anthony, our artist, has been working on Greg's calf for a year and a half now, or about 12 hours of actual sitting time. Today he started adding the color and it is amazing how it changed the look of it. He only has one more sitting left when they will add the rest of the color to the water and flowers in the background. It looks SO good and the finished piece is going to be awesome!!!

Oh, wow!!!! That looks so amazing! Just adding the color to the snake really brought it to life. It was kindof hard to see what was in the picture before, but that really brought it out. You are right, the artist is VERY talented. It's beautiful.
Any more tattoos planned for you?
Tattoos can be addictive. And it's kndof like baby hunger, when you see someone with a new one it really makes you want another one.
wow! the colors are amazing. i, myself, have an aversion to tattoos because i have had to take them off people with a laser. watching them wince in pain makes me firm in my resolve never to get one. but for greg-it's great.
the only time i have spent in a tattoo parlor was when suz got her nose pierced. do you remember suz? the lady looked up at me and told me i better sit down because I was bright green. i had to go outside and felt sick for hours.
that was the day i decided not to be a doctor...
Oh man, how could I forget? You looked like death. I have never seen anyone greener. I felt really bad that I put you through that. But it makes for a great laugh now!
I agree with Leslie. Adding the color to Greg's tattoo really brought out the pictures. I can't wait to see it in person! How long does Greg need to go for each sitting? Did you get something also?
He has about 3 or 4 hours left. Nothing new for me.
