One Week Till Halloween

There are a lot of reasons that I LOVE Halloween, for one I just think it's fun to get creative and dress up. As a kid, I always had costume parties for my birthday because it was just one week before Halloween. Now, we get to have a costume party for Cam because his birthday is the day before Halloween! I just love this time of year when the trees in the valley are at peak and there are mounds of colorful leaves all over the place. I love driving down Main Street in Farmington when the leaves are scattered all along the side of the road and I can see leaves swirling all around in my rear view mirror. I know, I am easliy amused. But I really think one of the best things about Halloween is that Christmas is right around the corner. It's the begining of a magical time of year.

Back to costumes... I am trying to remember what some of my favorite halloween costumes have been. I always remember the year Bryan was a TV. I think I was always a witch as a kid, but I have gotten a little bit more creative as an adult. I have been Princess Laeh, Elvira, Peg Bundy, a Vamptress and this year I am going to be Bellatrix Lestrange from Harry Potter. (I know most of you have no idea who that is, and I am going to say it once again, you should all read Harry Potter!!!) Last year at Cam's party we had a great turnout, including a Dinosaur, Monkey, Frog, Kitty, Buzz Lightyear, Darth Vader, Superman, a Lumber Jack, a Punk Rocker, and Dogg the Bounty Hunter, just to name a few! I can't wait to see who shows up this year!!!

Greg and I have always LOVED to throw halloween parties. There have been some great ones! I am sure there will be many more to come. Let's hear some halloween stories or best costumes of all time. I want to put in a vote for Debbie Gibson (Leslie) or Elvis (Greg). Actually, that year there were a lot of great costumes. Elvis, Gumby, Ice Man, Little Bo Peep, Debbie Gibson, Princess Leah, the Mexican and the Pregnant Cop duo, Sasha (the dog) was the Grinch who stole Christmas, she was supposed to be Santa, but she was very unhappy about it so we changed it half way throught the night to better suit her attitude. Oh, this post could go on and on. We have had a lot of fun on past halloweens...

What will you be this year?
What have you been in the past?
What is your best costume of all time?
Or someone elses best costume?

HAPPY HALLOWEEEEEEEENNNNN!!!!!

YEEEESSSSSSSSS!!!

I have been thinking of a good post like this for months now. Sooo glad you were thinking the same thoughts! Oh, gosh, don't even get me started. Cina was batdog that year and wasn't Jake Mr. Freeze? Fo Sho my favorite from that night was Dave Napiwocki as Little Bo Peep!! Didn't you have any pics of it? I might have to do a continuation of this on my blog....

And by the way, is that a bottle of HAIRSPRAY I am holding in my Debbie Gibson picture?????? Classic!

I don't usually dress up for Halloween. I think you caught me on a good year. But man, there have been some good good good halloween parties in our past! I have the best pic of you and Jake I am going to post. This rules Suz! Good one!

Les- Please do post more pictures from that night if you have them. I would love to see them. I thought I had more, but I guess not. Jake was Mr. Freeze, what did I call him? Ice Man??? I almost forgot about bat dog!!! The best part about your Debbie Gibson costume was that you didn't even know that is who you were until someone yelled "Hey, it's Debbie Gibson!!" That was CLASSIC!!! Good times for sure!

I will be waiting for your continuation post, get to it!

hey, you can't just casually throw in a picture of grandma like that! caught me sooo off guard and was jolting. in a good way of course. what a cutie!

the other jolting thing about this is that it makes me feel like a jerk and a loser. i hate halloween. it gives me a rash. i hate thinking up costumes. i hate trick or treating. i'm the lamest! i love that you get into it and have fun with it. maybe i need to step up may game...

the pics though-PRICELESS!!!!!! oh man. so classic!

Mitch just told me to "blog Rachel" and tell her she's gay.

Ray- How could you hate Halloween? You ARE a loser, get over it and dress up this year. Bring the girls up for Cams party and be dressed as Mary Poppins! :D
I know I snuck that Grandma Jane picture in there. I just couldn't pass it up as I was searching through my pictures. She's just too cute!!!

oh ya. p.s. i hate carving pumpkins too.

i sat here and re-evaluated myself on this whole thing and what i came up with is that i don't want to stop hating it. you can keep working on me, but chances are i'm going to be a scrooge about this. am i weird? i was on a date on friday with cameron and even HE dresses up. he got embarrassed when he told me because i had just told him how much i hate halloween. he dresses up like a vampire. i told him to tell everyone his name is edward cullen. suz-have you read twilight? if you haven't you should. i think you would like it.

oh, and suz-it turns out thomas is coming to town this weekend and so we most likely won't be at the party sunday :( i'll let you know if things change.

phew. that was long!

one more thing. as i evaluate my stance on this i gotta know...does EVEN mitch get into halloween? is that why i am gay???

Yes, Mitch is NOT above a good dress up. He gets into it (sometimes, not always).

Suz- he was thinking of being a luchador this year. Imagine that.
Also, Dogg the Bounty Hunter is probably the greatest thing I have ever seen! Mitch came unglued over that picture!

Ray- I have actually really been wanting to read Twilight. Everyone says if you are a Harry Potter fan you will love it. So I think that means if you are a Twilight fan you would love Harry Potter. That is another thing you are "wierd" about. I never realized how stubborn you are. If you aren't going to start dressing up for Halloween, then you should at least read Harry Potter!!! and I'll read Twilight.

Too bad Greg and Mitch wont be able to be together for a luchidor reunion this Halloween... Viva Luchidor!!!!!

suz-i actually did read the 1st harry potter book. it was good. i remember loving it. that was when ana was a baby. i just haven't really gotten around to reading the others. one of these days i'll have time to. sigh.

Mom- I am sure you have some great Halloween pictures. I can think of tons of cute Brexton pictures over the years.

Ray- I don't really think you are "wierd" or a "looser" I love you do death and I think you are awesome!

I just had to get that off my back. All day today I have been thinking to myself "man, I hope Rachel doesn't think I was seriouse. I am so rude!!!" I feel much better now.
:)

What's greg going to be this year?

Leslie said...

I remember that "Hey, she's Debbie Gibson" moment. I tried to pretend like I knew I was her all along....

Leslie said...

Suz- Did you tip Jake and Dave off on our two posts?????

suzan said...

Les- I sent them both an email on friday. Greg and I went to a Rockport Halloween party last night and I finally ran into your friend Leslie who had your baby shower. They are still living up here, have bought tons more property and are doing really well. She said to tell you hi and was stoked to hear what you guys are up to.

Leslie said...

Whoa, that is so cool! Awesome that they are still there. I totally loved her. Great gal. They were super smart to buy up some property. Are they planning on selling it? Where was the party?
