September? Where did August go?

We've had a busy week. Zach will be starting Pre School this Tuesday. So we have been busy getting ready. I have been having fun shopping!! I always think of Grandma Jane when I think of back to school shopping. I remember one year when we went to Crossroads with Grandma, Mary, Beth and us girls and someone stole Rachels bag of brand new underwear. We were so bummed... It seems like just yesterday that I was going back to school. It's hard to beleive that it's been 13 years already!!!

I have also been shopping for wedding spots with my mom!!! It is so much fun!! I wont go into any more details because it is her wedding and not mine, but I just have to say that I am sooooooo excited. My mom finally gets her day to be the princess that she is. What a special time for our family!!!

On Friday I went to Swiss Days with Chris and Michelle. I have never been before, but Chris goes every year. She had a booth there for many years so she knows all of the in's and out's. Thank goodness she talked us into going at 7 AM on the opening day. I had no idea what a mad house it would be. By 9 o'clock I could barely squeeze myself through the crowds into a booth to buy something. Lots of cute things though!!! I wish I had tons of money!!!

Sunday we had some of our friends over for dinner. Eric and Kanista, Chad and Nicole, Jake and Jen, and all of our kids. We went down to the beach untll a major thunderstorm had us rushing home. But it was a lot of fun while we were there. Our good friends, Donna and Bill have been down at the lake all weekend with their catamaran. We have been watching them sail around from our deck. They finally got Greg and I to go out for a spin. It was really fun! I can see how they have become addicted. It is so peaceful, just you and the water and the wind.

We made it back to the house just before a major downpour! But it didn't last long, and as the clouds were clearing and the sun was coming back out we saw the most spectacular rainbow I have ever seen!!! Better than Hawaii!!! It was a full, double rainbow that stretched from one end of the lake to the other and it had every definable color of the spectrum. I will never forget it! Every time I see a double rainbow I have an old song come back to me that Rachel, and Leslie and I made up for Pat and Jens wedding... "One day when Jennifer was on a train, she saw a double rainbow..." he, he, I love it!!!

After the storm cleared the guys pulled out a kite, the winds and the kite were so strong that even Greg couldn't keep his feet on the ground. It was pretty entertaining. I am sure they are all sore today from trying to hold onto that thing. We had a great time! We all have kids that are about the same age so they just had a blast playing together. Bill said something that was kind of funny and also true, he said "It's interesting how you start to pick your friends by the age of thier kids." It's not so much that we pick our friends that way, but they are the only ones who want to hang out with us!

Susan,
Your pictures are AMAZING!!! You have so many stellar photo ops from your house. It is unbelievable. Keep your side lot safe with our name on it, okay?

Anyway, sounds like an eventful weekend. So rad that you got to go out with Bill and Donna. You put the hugest smile on my face with your reminiscing of the past. Glad we came from the same roots!

I also can't believe that Zach will be going to Preschool. Where does the time go? Nice update, keep 'em coming! Oh, and do share about the wedding, your mom is doing a poor job of keeping us informed! :)

There will always be plenty of room for your tent!!! We will even build that tent plot like Mitch was talking about for you! If you want a lot up here, you better move quick! They are going fast all of a sudden.
The reason I have so many reminicese of the past with you and Rachel is cuz you ladies are my sisters! I always looked forward to seeing you as a kid and I still do!

Looks like you had a great weekend. And, Leslie.... I have to keep you guessing somewhat. Hopefully I will have an update on the location this week. When you get old like me it's really hard to make such big decisions. I know exactly what i want but there's the little issue of $$$$. I'll let you know.

Stolen underwear??? What kind of a pervert would do that?
How come we never see Jake or Bryan on these blogs? They are missing out.
Love the rainbow pictures. We need toput together a photo show, or maybe a birthday calendar with everyone's best pictures.
