I have been thinking about that crazy morning all day. Six years ago today, I woke up to my mom telling me "We're under attack! They've hit The World Trade Center! Get up! You've got to come see, I don't want to wake up Grandma, she doesn't need the worry and stress" I jumped out of bed thinking "What! No way!" The first thing I saw on TV was the twin towers, one of them smoking and then, well, you know the rest.
That was shortly after Grandma Jane moved into my mom's house, she had been diagnosed with cancer just a few weeks earlier. I had been living there at the time as well. I was soooo worried about Greg. He had just driven across the Mexico border for a 2 week surfing and camping trip with a few friends. He had no idea what was happening and I had no way of telling him. He didn't even hear about it until several days after when someone walking down the beach told them what had happend. Luckily they let them back across the border after a full search and interigation.
911 was like the begining of a new world. There was pre 911 and there is post 911. And I vividly remember thinking on that day " What will the world be like from now on?" " What will happen next?" It was really scary and really sad. It's hard to believe it has been 6 years already.

I remember getting you up. What a long sad day. I'm thankful that I had you there with me and Grandma. Everyone's blogs have brought back memories. We need to remember to cherish each and every day cuz we never know what tomorrow will bring. I Love you. Give the kids a hug.
Thanks for sharing.
I never knew that Greg was out of the country during this. I can't imagine missing those first couple of days of TV. Maybe it was for the better.
Oh, Grandma!
