"WTH does a guy gotta do to get his own game show?!"

This is what Greg said one day not too long ago in his usual, sarcastic manner...
Not even 24 hours later, I was working at Yellowfinn when a sharply dressed man walked through the door with a rather unusual request.
"Would you like a table or would you like to sit at the sushi bar?" I asked as I always do...
"Actually I think I'm looking for the manager... the tall guy with the hat" he replied.
"Oh, that's Greg, he'll be in later this evening, I could leave him a message for you"
"Well, yeah, you can tell him I am a producer, and we're pitching a new cooking game show called 'Dining with the Dean' We have been searching and searching for the right host. I saw a few of his clips on 'Good Things Utah' and he is just the guy we have been looking for! He will be perfect!" he handed me his business card and said "Please have him call me if he is interested."
"I definitely will!" I said.
"Hmmm, that was weird" I laughed as he walked out the door.

Sure enough, after researching this guy and his company a little bit, it seemed legit, so Greg called and within a week they were taking head shots, filming the clip below, then actually shooting a pilot, all of which are firsts for Greg.

It's been a few weeks since all this madness and we have gone about our normal busy lives not really sure what to think of it... then yesterday we received an email that they had launched a Facebook fan page and a YouTube subscriber page and have posted this video. Now we're sitting here thinking "maybe this is for real?"

Meet Your Hosts of Dining with the Dean:

I'm Herman Menderbaulm! Haha!

So, now to better answer my lovely cousin Rachel's text to me last night "wth is dining with the dean???!" because I'm sure everyone else is wondering the same thing. Basically Greg and Laci go to two different sorority houses and they have to help these frat kids whip up a 3 course meal using whatever ingredients are in their house... They then present their dinners to their Dean of the college. Whoever makes the best meal wins a sweet entertainment center for their house and $5000 to a charity of their choice (or something like that.) From what the producers say they have already had a lot of interest in the show from networks like MTV, The Food Network, and a few others. We are just sitting back enjoying the ride... I personally find it all very entertaining and I know that Greg is having a lot of good laughs over it. Who knows where this road will take us.
There are basically 3 things that could happen...

1~ Nobody picks it up, we walk away with some good laughs and Greg with a little experience in what it takes to film a pilot. All good!
2~ Somebody buys the show, but wants to use their own hosts, we basically walk away with the same as above, plus a few extra bucks for Greg's time.
3~ It gets picked up and they want to use Greg... this one is so exciting that it's scary, this basically means Greg has a new full time career... as a GAME SHOW HOST! HA!!

If you would like to keep up with Dining with the Dean as they post more videos you can subscribe here: Youtube, Dining with the Dean Channel or become a fan on Facebook here:Dining with the Dean Facebook Page I suggest you do so since we all know that I am horrible at keeping my blog up to date!

So that's that in a nutshell! No mater what the outcome this has been a fun new experience for Greg. I think his potential is as endless as the universe. The man is absolutely brilliant, witty, charming, and might I add extremely handsome :) As long as they don't restrict him too much and just allow him to be himself I agree that they have found their man.

Ahhhhh!! I'm jumping out of my skin for you guys! If anyone was born for anything, Greg was born to be a host and entertain. I hope that this happens. If it doesn't I hope Greg will get more than just some laughs. He's destined for greatness!! Get stoked!

We will be watching and waiting to see where this adventure takes you. Can we have the first autograph? About the only TV we watch is the Food Shows. Oh and I have developed a strange fondness of the Nanny.

I agree with Rachel's comment that Greg was born to host and entertain. This is what has been waiting for him all these years. They say to always be in tune with what the universe is sending your way. This is what Greg is doing and we wish him nothing but success. Who knows? If this doesn't work out, something else along this line might be out there.
