"what can we do fun today?"

Wow! I'm pretty stoked on all the new template options since the last time I logged in. So, now that I've waisted a whole hour getting things just how I want them I guess it's time to get down to it and actually BLOG something!

What a whirlwind of a summer it was! It definitely went by WAY too fast. We really didn't go to too far from home this summer. We mostly just stuck around the house and enjoyed all of the things here that we work so hard for. First thing every morning (and all day long) I hear the same question "moooomm, what can we do fun today?" It comes from two different mouths, in those exact words and for a while it drove me nuts! At the sound of "mo-" I'm like "Don't say it! Seriously? You don't even have both feet out of bed yet!" But after a while I realized... I created this monster, every day I ask myself this same question. So I've learned to embrace it. This is an extension of the way I live my life. Life is for playing. So, what should we do fun today?

Swim break! Pizza on the deck!

Liberty Park Splash Park

SLC Arts Festival! Spiderman and... Sonic the Hedgehog?

Greg and I are living on a whole different schedule than the rest of the world. Sometimes it seems like we're living on a different planet too, but it works really well for us. We pretty much play all day and work at night. It's nice to have all day to relax and hang, and do a few things around the house. Then in the afternoon one of us will head off to work while the other takes care of all the things that need to get done at home. We are a couple of night owls so we are thriving in our unusual way of life. It's been difficult lately as I have had to adjust back into school mode, I seem to be stuck in summer mode...

Back to school 2010

Zach graduated from Kindergarten and is now in 1st grade! It's so hard to believe. It seems like just yesterday I was dropping him off to his first day of Pre School and I'm afraid if I blink I'll look up and he'll be driving himself to High School. These kids just grow so fast...

Kindergarten Graduation

Cam doesn't start school until next week. He can hardly wait!!! We are counting down the days... 5 more. He is missing all of his CCNS buddies and especially his teacher. Cam will have no talk of Kindergarten, Hawthorn, or Elementary School at all where he is concerned. He is trying to convince me that he will "never go to Kindergarten" he will stay at "his" school with Miss Terry forever!! I've got a year to change his mind. I think I'm going to need it!

Alright, this post will end the way they all do for me... I've been sitting here for far too long. Time to get off my behind and get some work done, but first I think I'll take a minute to soak up the last of the summer sun. I leave you with a few more pics to ponder...

one more thing real quick... did you notice the Etch-a-Sketch picture? Zach whipped that up in a matter of minutes... have you ever tried to draw a T-Rex on an Etch-a-Sketch? I thought it was brilliant!

Haha! I've been waiting for someone to ask that. He was yelling at them, Trying to get their eyes to tuck in. It's a little game he likes to play. Eventually he ends up poking them in the eyes... I know, it's not very nice :/

Is this new layout something you can only do with a Mac? I have so many pictures I want to share. Glad Beth asked the snail question. They certainly seemed to be headed straight Cam's tummy! Keep the family pictures coming. They are wonderful and help to keep us in touch with you and your wonderful family.
