Say what you will about Micheal Jackson, love him or hate him, you can't deny that the man could DANCE and that he rocked our world in the 80's! Let's just be honest here, when you get to the chorus in the song "Beat it" is there anyone in the world who is not, at very least, tapping their foot? I'll admit it, I'm bouncing around in my chair right now with no control what so ever!
I've actually wanted to do a post on MJ for a long time. Why? Because I often rock out to Micheal's "History" album while I clean the kitchen. Maybe I shouldn't share all of this embarrassing info, but I'm going to anyway. I just think it's a lot more fun to unload the dishwasher while doing the moonwalk across the kitchen to the pantry, ending with a quick spin, and letting out an uncontrollable "Woohoo!" than to just walk it on over.
I totally get it why so many people hate him and could care less that he passed. I'm torn, I loved the 80's Pop star that he was. I had a life sized poster of him on my bedroom wall as a kid. I LOVED LOVED LOVED Micheal Jackson!!! I still love his old music, but wether it was society, fame, or just his own personal issues (which none of us will ever understand) I think he turned into a complete freak of nature after all the plastic surgery and very wacky behavior. Unfortunately, that has altered my view of him in recent years. I can't help to be judge mental of the horrifying accusations against him, but I believe a person is innocent until proven guilty.
Since YouTube won't let me embed the Beat It video to my blog, here is the link to what I think is the best Dance video EVER! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uqxo1SKB0z8 Go to the 3:42 mark.... SO AWESOME! Who DOESN'T want that jacket??? I remember recording this video on VHS and playing it over and over so I could learn all the dance moves and have now passed these moves on to my children so they know what's going down when Mom's going crazy in the kitchen.
So there you have it, I guess it's fair for me to say my life wouldn't be the same without Micheal Jackson :)

Funny we recorded the video on vhs too- I think at like midnight during "Friday night videos" while my parents were sleeping. He's an 80's icon, sad to lose him.
I have love for MJ too. I totally remember the poster in your room. The first time I saw Thriller was at Michelle Mooney's house, we waited up all night to watch it on Friday Night Videos!
Friday Night Videos. HA! I had totally forgotten about that. What a funny concept.
Suz, see if you can find the Time MJ commemorative issue. I read it from cover to cover on the airplane to Canada. It was FASCINATING.
Can you get Greg to video that moonwalk? I'm dying to see it!!! You are seriously the cutest thing ever!
