The boys just couldn't wait to get their Little Christmas Trees out of storage and decorate them! This has become a very fun tradition for them... and I always love to watch them do it. (every year I get the cutest pictures.) This year was especially fun for Cam because he is really starting to get it! He took this all very serious and found the perfect branch for each ornament... in the end, most of them were all hanging off of the same 3 limbs (this is hard for the Libra in me to bare, they should be evenly distributed throughout the tree, but I have kept my hands to myself, it is just how he wants it) Zach had fun remembering each ornament from years past, he and I had a few quarrels over who's is who's (some of those ornaments belong on Moms tree!) He was pretty much done once his Dinosaur ornaments found their home for the Holidays.
Thank You Wawa for the Little Christmas Trees. They make the boys so happy year after year!
You may have noticed the little Elf in the background watching them. He is "The Elf on the Shelf" He sits and watches what goes on day after day... In the night, once the boys have gone to sleep he sneaks off to report to Santa on whether the boys were good or bad... Every morning we find him in a new spot. He is a "magical elf," but they can not touch or play with this elf too much or his magic will wear off.... Zach is convinced, Cam is testing his magical abilities...
Thanks Grandma Beth for (hopefully) a little extra bargaining power over the next 24 days, and for a new tradition to be treasured!

I am SO getting an Elf for our shelf. I love it!! I think it would work really well on our little girl.
I love the elf idea. I am going to have to find me a little elf. I started having the boys decorate their own little trees, too. We'll try for this weekend.
Thanks for sharing your tree trimming traditions. I love the look on the boys faces as they decorate their little trees. The elf on the shelf if a fun idea. It reminds me of when my little bear, Teddy, used to get into trouble and we'd find him all over the house . . . several times in a pile of wrappers from the chocolate truffles I thought I had hidden from "you know who"!
Oops! I missed the typo!! Had a very difficult time publishing my message. Finally had to get Chuck out of bed to help. Hope it works from now on!
LOL!!! Barb, I love you!!!
so I've had aquite a few people ask me about The Elf on The Shelf. The one we have is really cute and he comes with a story book that tells all about him and how the magic works. You can also register your elf on their website and then Santa himself will send them an email! pretty exciting! It is really cute. I don't know where my mom got ours but their website is www.theelfontheshelf.com where you can find him... super cute! Love it!
Ok, those pictures totally had me smiling SO big. They were soooo great. I especially love the one of Cam, glaring slightly at the nearby Elf who is watching him. Ha Ha Ha! Gotta love that little guy!
I wish we had little trees for the kids! What a fun tradition for them. I would have LOVED that!
I love Christmas traditions. I'm glad to hear that the elf has made some kind of impact on the boys. I love the pics of them decorating thier little trees. Christmas is so magical especially when you can enjoy it with children. I can hardley wait for Christmas Eve.
