5 Years Old

It's hard to believe that it's been 5 years since this little baby boy changed my life forever. From the moment the nurse handed him over on the day he was born my heart was swollen, more than I ever thought possible, and to this day it is still overflowing with love for this special child.   Zach has taught me so much.  He has forced me to come out of my shell on many occasions because he is such a social little guy.  Everywhere we go he makes new friends.  In fact, before we even get to wherever we are going he is always asking, "Mom, is it okay if I make some new friends today?" and he always does.   What makes him even more special is that Zach never forgets the friends he makes.  He still remembers, by name, the kids he met at the playground a year ago.  I have no doubt that despite the fact that we live in a town that's so small it isn't even considered a town, Zach will have many friends growing up.  I guess I can plan on doing a lot of driving!

One of my best friends had a baby boy just a few days before I had Zach. So we pulled together and had a combined birthday party on Saturday with Zach and her son, Adrian.  We were able to pull off a surprise Reptile Show which was a big hit!  There were all kinds of creepy crawlys, from tarantulas, to toads, to 10 foot snakes!   Since these days you can't have a live Dinosaur Show, this was the next best thing and needless to say, it was right down Zachs alley! Lot's of fun!!!

Happy 5th Birthday to "My (big old) Yaks"  I love you more than words can say!!!

Seriously, that kid is one in a million. Soooo irresistable & loveable. I swear he is a very kind, wise old man stuck in an energetic kids little body.

Happy day Zackie! I LOVE YOU!!!

OK...so way to make me tear up! Only moms can understand that heart swelling, I think...and I swear my heart swells even more with every kid--I never knew I could love someone SO much. Way fun party! You are brave.

Happy birthday zach, so sorry we missed your party but it's probably a good thing cause I would have peed my pants. I'm deathly afraid of snakes. We love you though and lets get together soon.

Awe, tell him happy birthday for us. Time goes so fast! He is such an awesome kid, and with the way our two got along, we could be inlaws one day! ;)
