Did I ever tell you that Greg is awesome? Well, he is. He has been working so hard the last few weeks or months, actually, he never quits working hard. His list of projects is always full and he is always knocking 'em out. I guess we did it to ourselves when we chose to move into a home that is a major project on a mountain that is very high maintenance. After he finished laying the sod a few months back he took a little time off (with much persuasion from me) so we could all enjoy our summer that has proven once again to always go by way too fast. But this past month he is back to knocking out projects on the list and has gotten so much done! It's very exciting!
BUNK BEDS FOR THE BOYS!
They love it! Zach has never slept all through the night (I hate to admit that) but it's true, he always comes down to my room, usually several times in the night. Finally, we can proudly say, "Not anymore." He loves his new bunk bed so much that he stays there all night! I love it too. There is so much more space in their little tiny bedroom now. It has finally all come together and I feel like that project is stamped [DONE].
WE HAVE A CLOSET!
...and it's amazing! We moved into this home with one teensy weensy closet in mine and Gregs bedroom. We have both worked retail for 10 years and have aquired way too many clothes over the years. But even if we hadn't worked retail for the past 10 years the closet would still have not been big enough for even one of our wardrobes. I don't know how we've made it this long... oh yeah, actually I do, I've been going NUTS the whole time! Greg cut into the storage room and built us a nice big walk in closet. I can proudly say all of my clothes fit in it! Greg, he still needs to get rid of a bunch of clothes... size 36, Mens XL... anyone want to come shopping? (he will kill me when he reads that)
THE JUNGLE GYM!!!
This was a fun one. This was the kids portion of our "economic stimulus check." It was a pain in the butt to build. I heard Greg complain several times about having to follow the stupid directions but, with the help of Papa, they got it built and Zach and Cam LOVE IT! We have bigger plans to make it more of a little playground area with some trees, and benches for parents to watch from. We want it to really blend into the terrain, but for this year I think we are calling it good. The boys are out there for hours every day. I don't have to wonder anymore where they are wandering off to when they go outside. At least for now, this is where they always want to be.
AND THE BIGGEST AND BESTEST OF THEM ALL
We are rearranging our entire basement, I'm talking walls and everything. The plan is to open up the living area and add another wood burning stove. We have lived up here at Rockport over the past two winters with no heat source other than the one wood burning stove that is upstairs. That's right, no gas furnace like I'm sure you all enjoy. When we get up in the morning the first thing we do is build a fire. Up until now our basement has been basically useless in the winters because of this fact. I just can't wait to have our main living room area downstairs from now on, all warm and cozy!
So, that's what we've been up to, we've really got our work cut out for us! I guess it's time I get off the computer and start moving furniture or something!

All that hard work will pay off. You guys are great. I love all the dino stuff in the boys bedroom. I guess it is not a passing phase for them.
wow!!! i love greg's work ethic. he never stops, does he? such a great quality. and those are great pics of the boys with their hammers! your house is shaping up real nice!
now, when are you going to dump all your duds? greger's are useless to me.
The bad thing about letting the boys get involved in the demo is that now Gregs hammer keeps disapearing... We keep wondering what we will find all bashed in!
and Ray, I need to weed through my "duds" soon. I will let you look through them first.
Wow, go Greg! I can't believe all the stuff he's done, so handy and amazing! Don't know how our guys do it! Sounds all so familiar the demo and all, super fun as you know! Good luck!
Wow, I can't believe how much you guys have accomplished. Maybe we need to get bunkbeds, both of our boys come in our bed at night. It was so great to see you the other day. I so glad we've reunited. Your so sweet and so much fun (as always). My boys would love to see you soon. Drew has been playing dinosaurs all weekend. I'm looking forward to our mountain adventures this winter.
no...me first, me first!!!
wow, suzana! you guys are insane. you never stop the projects, it amazes me. i can't believe how much you have accomplished just this summer, alone! now, how is the layout going to be in the basement? are you losing your bedroom???
We are just moving the bedroom to the other side of the basement, over in between where the stairs come down and the storage room is. So where our bedroom used to be is now where the TV and entertainment area is. The new stove will be right in between the windows, basically right where the wall was. Make sense? Maybe you better just come visit and see for yourself :)
You guys rock! Talk about some serious projects, and they all turned out great. Maybe Greg needs to give Chad some tips (he he.. don't tell him I said that!.) ;)
Sue, I finally made a post. It's a long one. I really respect you for all of your posting. You do such a good job. By the way, what wall are yall tearing down?
The wall was the one in between my bedroom and the family room. Right now we just have one big happy family/ master bedroom down there.
oh, one more thing Kim. There is really no need to give me respect for all of my posting. The truth is, I have no life and I spend way too much time doing it. But thanks! I think it's fun :)
